Two Elephants in the Room is Too Many

On entropy, crabs, and the singular direction of human failure

It has been some time since I last published anything here. I have switched countries, am on the verge of finishing my master's degree, and learnt to speak half-baked French to buy a well-baked French pastry.

But so much has been similar, too. Artificial Intelligence has kept up the pace and became mainstream; the earth's temperature has kept reaching new mercury levels. Right-wing power grabs have kept pace: from Trump finding his way back into office to Modi keeping power in India, while Germany and France witness an unparalleled consolidation of ultra-nationalists.

Do you know about how so many lifeforms on earth keep evolving into crabs? I find this pattern uncannily similar to how human beings keep screwing things over. From unchecked capitalism to exploitation of the poor and destruction of the climate, I have a hunch that human existence is incompatible with the greater good of the planet it calls home. Like entropy, it has the sole direction — as time progresses, we inject more chaos.
